Struggling Alone?

Just another thing we do to ourselves. Why?

Taken from Vishen Lahkiani’s “The Buddha and the Badass” (2020).

Question-Time:
Why do we struggle
alone
with thoughts and experiences
(that are universal)?

I was skimming though this chapter of the “The Buddha and the Badass” by Vishen Lakhiani and this quote led me to generate the aforementioned question.

Why do we do this ourselves?

✳️ Is it for brownie points, to water our self-esteem?
✳️ Is it the Culturescape — parents and peers and profs and professionals chanting the mantra “suck it up” or “man up”?
✳️ Is it because we’d feel like we’re being a bother to the ones we love?

Being able to independently regulate your emotions matters.

But have the guts to ask for help matters, too.

❗ Call to Action: Who can you be a helping hand to, this week? And whose helping hand could you accept this week?
