How To Quickly Become An Artist

What if the key to achieving big goals was to turn yourself into an artist?

When people think of the word ‘artist’, they usually think of a stereotype.

Someone that’s not practical.

Someone that deals with abstract concepts.

Someone that draws, writes, or paints usually.

Many would think of a dreamer.

Sometimes people think of an artist as a particular person.

Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Banksy, or someone like that.

Almost as if they were people from another planet.

But I don’t think that this is what an artist is.

Wikipedia defines an artist as the following.

Seth Godin, a bestselling author and well known marketing expert, spoke about the difference between art and work.

In his book ‘Linchpin’ he defines art as follows:

“Art isn’t only a painting. Art is anything creative, passionate, and personal. And great art resonates with the viewer, not only with the creator.”

He advocates the concept that when you’re doing art, you always want to do more.

When you are doing work, you often want to do less.

Now think.

What type of workers would you like for your business?

What kind of people would you like in your life?

Someone that wants to do less, or more

We need artists, in every field, and you should be an artist too.

What does that mean?

That you should start creating, inspiring, innovating, and not just following instructions.

That we should all find something that we want to do more of.

Not something that we want to avoid.

So that we can create something truly remarkable.

Art.

Not work.

So…

Stop working, start doing art.

It’s what the world needs.
