3 Things Worth Sharing

Random thoughts from the Pacific Northwest and a Challenge

When I stick to a schedule, pushing myself to write every single day, I lose interest. I love writing, but when I force myself it can sometimes feel more like a chore than a labor of love. It’s good to take a break sometimes. But I have to be careful that a short break doesn’t turn into a long one.

I have proven this over and over again.

I always pack too many books to read on holidays, and my daily to-do list is never completed. When I have more free time it’s usually accompanied by the freedom to choose. That and the lack of urgency tends to make me relax and then I accomplish less.

The truth is having more time isn’t the answer unless you are strict about how you use it.

…. and on a more serious note….

No matter where you live when Mother Nature turns on you, she wins. There was a record-setting heat wave in Western Canada this June/July and we learned how reliant we are on the basics. When temperatures reach a certain level, refrigeration and air conditioning don’t work well. They just can’t keep up with the heat.

The only respite was to find shade and sit in a wading pool filled with water. Now we’re watching the Mother fling fireballs in the form of forest fires.
