Not Cold enough.

A Walk — Bethany Kindsvogel

A poem.

I take my buzzing mind into the cold. Into the dark and frosted backdrop of winter.

I do my best not to disturb the freshest layer of powdered white. Under the orange glow of the streetlight, my skin changes color. I see the air from my nostrils and it fogs my glasses.

I skip my uneasy thoughts along the frozen gutter; I will not take with me into the morning, the hopelessness that rattles me tonight.

If the only way to cease the tick-tick-ticking and tap-tap-tapping that relentlessly pick into the meat of my brain — is by freezing — I will continue to walk.

Thank You, I hope you enjoyed my poem. I am by all means, an amateur poet, I simply just enjoy writing.
